We all need a writing buddy sometimes.

If you're like me, getting your butt in the chair to create can be a Herculean feat sometimes. The bathroom sink needs cleaning, or an email needs a response, or you suddenly have the overwhelming urge to check Instagram for the third time today, or...

You know what I mean.

Many of my students tell me that one of the most helpful things they get from my classes or working with me 1:1 is accountability. The understanding that someone knows and cares if you're not writing and will gently but firmly call you back when you've strayed from what you long to be doing but are also scared of.

That's why I've created this series of short writing videos to help you put pen to paper when you need some extra motivation. Grab your pen and let’s get writing!

In this 5-minute writing session, we'll explore the prompt "Where do I come from?"

In this 5-minute writing prompt, we explore the simplest places to start writing if you’re feeling stuck or uninspired: "right in front of me."
